Finals Friday

Good afternoon,

We had two quite different finals' commemorations today.

The first was for the All Blacks, facing their final Rugby World Cup match on Sunday morning (NZ time)...

...and then a final farewell assembly for Mrs Earl. She has done wonders for the school and I know that the whole community will miss her, as well as wish her all the very best for the challenges that lie ahead for her at her new school.

Good luck Mrs Earl!

After morning tea we also said farewell to Harold the Giraffe of Life Education fame.

Who in turn, sang for us!

The rest of the day was spent Key Competentcying.

Have a great weekend,

Mr Grant

Tall Order Thursday

Good afternoon,

This morning, after a good discussion about the heart of the Gospel...

...we popped into the Life Education caravan to meet Harold the Giraffe...

...as well as learning some other interesting bits and bobs.

Then, once I got back from taking some choir children to the Cashmere View Retirement Village to help out at a wee church service that the Parish runs for the residents (once a term, I believe), we carried on with some of our regularly scheduled reading programme.

Oh, and this just in from the student council...

Hi everyone,

We, along with Hoon Hay school...and much of the nation...are having a Black Out day to celebrate The All Blacks getting into the Rugby World Cup finals.

Your children have to be dressed in black (or grey or white - alternative strip) or they come in their school uniform. Their shoes do not have to be black though.

Please, no face paint!

We will be out on Sparks Road shortly after 9 to show solidarity with Hoon Hay and the local community.

Have a great day!

Mr H.

See you all blacked out in the morning then!

Mr Grant

And speaking of the Gospel...

Book Thursday

I am reading on a iPad. I am reading Dragons, the book.

No Photos Wednesday...

...unless you count these of the choir at their practice for tonight's performance at Horncastle Arena.

As for Room 2, once I got back, well...to be fair, our afternoon was fairly...laid back!

Quick Post Tuesday

Good evening,

Just before I pop home...well...umm...there's not much to report concerning today really. We did, well, pretty much the normal things for a Tuesday. Including making a garage for reading...

...since some of us read about a garage sale.

Other than that...

Oh, I'm out with the choir in the morning tomorrow, so there will be a reliever at the con 'till 12:30.

Ice Trucking

This is Kahurangi's ice road from Monday's book The Gigantic Bell. We had to freeze 4 big pieces of ice to make it.

Singing Friday

Well, it was for me.

Good afternoon,

This morning Room 2 split thither and yon so that I could take the choir for one last practice before next week's Music Festival performance on Wednesday.

And once they got back...it was off to the hall for more singing...and then back to Room 2 for yet more singing!

We did at least go to the library.

After lunch the ten that were left from Kapa Haka TRUMP'd it!

Speaking of this afternoon, this afternoon you would have also received an email regarding swimming. Please fill out this form so that we can get initial groupings sorted for Week 4.

Thanks,

Mr Grant

And Room 2.

Oh, and this just in...

Rm 11 Friday

[Some of] Rm 2 went to Rm11. We did prize games we all so did trump.

Maddison and Magdalene

All Black Friday

We had so much fun because some of Room 2 went to Room 12 and the other half went to Room 11 [while Mr Grant hosted the last school choir practice before the music festival next Wednesday].

Show Me Thursday

Good afternoon,

This morning opened...

...and, well, ended...

...with a few Show Me. S.

:-)

Kakariki also tried their hand creating a few Popplets.

Though, to be honest, they didn't have much time to complete them.

After lunch we filled in a Describe [Solo Taxonomy] Map as to why Mary was special.

Bye for now,

Mr Grant

Late Post Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Or evening,

Or something,

While I'm waiting for iMovie to crank out some green screening...

This morning, Kakariki practiced and performed a play for us...

...then, in the afternoon, we learnt of Mary's relationship to King David.

See you tomorrow,

Nick
