Busy Busy Friday

Well, from my perspective anyway!

Good afternoon,

Seeing as things were a bit flat out this morning, I have no evidence of this morning's learning to present to you. (No photos! Though they did learn the maori word for "frog" - poraka!)

They did read a poem...

...which I didn't record, 'cause, well...'twas a touch complex. (Though in retrospect, had we practiced a few more times...)

After lunch, so that Mrs Carrol could be freed up to direct the stage hands through their stage craft for next week, we were visited by half of Room 11. Together the children practiced using the Key Competencies.

Have a great weekend - I'm pretty sure I will. I'm hoping that my "Keep 'em off Wedge" X Wing list will do the biz tomorrow in a wee warm up event leading up to the X Wing Regionals in about a months or so's time.

Oh, and the notice that is going out regarding Wednesday...

Thorougly Thursday

I know I've used that alliteration before, but, well...

Good afternoon, Another pretty busy day was had here this fine Thursday. We kicked off with some maths...
...a touch of reading...
Bobby Bear
...ending with some R.E.

And a good time was had by all. Mostly. Generally speaking.

I only seem to have less than half of the pirate costumes that I should have for next Monday's dress rehearsal. Please make sure that everyone's got their costumes safe and sound at school.

Busy Old Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Another whirlwind Wednesday was had here in Room 2 (and beyond) this fine day.

We managed a spot of Maths...

...as well as all the other stuff.  Including lunch time. Ever wondered what they get up to?

Then it was off to production practice. Of which I saw little, as I was facing the choir.

Still, I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all.

See you in the morning,

Mr Grant

A Quiet Tuesday

Well, for some of it anyway.

Good afternoon,

We kicked off with a bit of a quiet morning today, as, just after our Maths warm up of doubles and halves..."now sing it..."

...and instructional groups were about to get under way...two thirds of the class shot through for Kapa Haka for the last time. During the morning, anyway. Things'll get back to their regular lunch time or Friday afternoon routine after the production next week. Our Friday afternoons won't be being consumed with production practices.

Still, those who were left continued with Maths...

...Phonics and Writing...

...which the rest of the class caught the tail end of.

After morning tea we had a spot of Reading...

...followed by some R.E. after lunch.

Which caused some discussion - did God make paper? (We came to the conclusion that no, He didn't. He made the wood, people mulched it into paper.)

And the day ended with a spot of P.E. (Soccer) with Mrs Fitzsimmons, while I took her class for a run with Rugby balls.

And a good time was had by all. You know, apart from when it wasn't.

I hope your costumes are all here, we've got our first dress rehearsal tomorrow afternoon,

No News No Photos Monday

Indeed, I'm just posting this for completeness' sake!

Good afternoon,

And good evening. Nothing much to see here. Move along, there's a good fellow.

Mr Grant

(I forgot to bring out the camera, busy busy and all that...and a good time was had by all!)
